SAM has designed and built a remote open architecture and intelligent sensing and control telemetry device (the ISU) to which other sensing and control devices can be connected. This device communicates via the internet, usually wirelessly, to a central database and website called SAM World.

By enabling seamless communication across all telemetry systems SAM World can connect through any communication protocol to any compatible device; be that an RFID tag, a sensor or a mobile handset.

The SAM World web interface enables anyone to easily set up and tailor their SAM World environment to meet their needs, whether it is their factory floor and all its variables, their smart home, their security systems or their insurance management – or indeed all of these combined.

The SAM World site is an enormously collaborative site where:

  • Software developers can sell decision–making applications that determine what data is collected and how it will be used
  • Where individuals can use these applications to manage what data they collect and the purposes they put it to, with simplicity and complete flexibility
  • Where users can share and combine data, in a perfectly controlled manner, with those that can add value and meaning to it

There is enormous scope for SAM World to impact on every business and to be used by every home however, as a business, we will be focusing in the early stages on the markets already starting to use machine to machine (M2M) messaging.
